The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested a 35-year-old New York woman accused of planning an attack on the state capitol in Albany.1 Jessica Boyle was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces charges related to providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.1
According to prosecutors, Boyle pledged allegiance to ISIS and conducted extensive surveillance of the New York State Capitol building with the intent to cause mass casualties.1 She reportedly told undercover agents that she wanted to "destroy as many buildings as possible and kill senators."1 Boyle conducted reconnaissance of the capitol at least five times before her arrest.1 She had devised a plan to conceal explosives in DoorDash delivery bags to carry out the attack.1
During the investigation, undercover FBI agents provided Boyle with $200 to purchase bomb-making materials, and she was arrested while in possession of a knife and documents pledging loyalty to ISIS.1 Among the items found was a non-functional firearm and a fake explosive device, both supplied by the undercover operatives conducting the sting operation.1 Boyle converted to Islam approximately five years ago.1
