藏人運動人士洛嘎讓贊於7月2日在聯合國總部外自焚抗議，滿一個月之際，多個在台藏人人權團體於8月2日在台北舉辦記者會紀念其義舉[1]。活動旨在響應「全球行動日」，抗議中國的「民族團結進步促進法」，並呼籲國際社會關注藏人在中共威權壓迫下的處境[1]。
達賴喇嘛西藏宗教基金會董事長格桑堅參表示：「洛嘎讓贊以生命叩問世界，圖伯特（西藏）人民更以無數鮮血守護自由、信仰與民族尊嚴。」[1]西藏台灣人權連線秘書長札西慈仁表示，已有超過170名境內外藏人以身為炬抵抗暴政，約600萬境內藏人需要境外藏人發聲[1]。
Tibetan activist Loga Renzan self-immolated outside the United Nations headquarters on July 2 in protest, and one month after this act, multiple Tibetan human rights organizations based in Taiwan held a press conference in Taipei on August 2 to commemorate his sacrifice.[1] The gathering was organized to respond to a "Global Day of Action" and to protest China's "Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law," while calling on the international community to pay attention to the plight of Tibetan people under what the groups characterize as authoritarian oppression by the Chinese Communist Party.[1]
According to the human rights organizations, more than 170 Tibetan activists both inside and outside the country have engaged in self-immolation to resist what they describe as tyranny, with approximately 6 million Tibetan people living within China's borders.[1] Gesang Jiancan, chairman of the Dalai Lama Tibet Religious Foundation, stated at the event: "Loga Renzan used his life to question the world, and the Tibetan people continue to shed countless drops of blood to protect freedom, belief, and ethnic dignity."[1] Tashi Tsering, secretary-general of the Tibet Taiwan Human Rights Association, expressed that Tibetan activists abroad must speak on behalf of the 6 million Tibetan people inside the country.[1]
