Greg Delaney vanished from his home in the Whittington suburb of Geelong, Victoria on July 12, 1989, at the age of 21.[1] Now 58 years old by current estimate, Delaney remains missing, prompting his family to launch a fresh appeal during National Missing Persons Week in early August.[1] The Australian Federal Police released an age-progressed image depicting what Delaney might look like today as part of the renewed effort to generate leads.[1]
At the time of his disappearance, Delaney was wearing blue jeans, white Adidas sneakers, and a black and white sweater.[1] He stood approximately 165 centimeters tall with a medium build, brown hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion.[1] His mother, Pamela, expressed the family's desperate hope, stating: "Find me a finger, something that I can prove is Greg, and I can bury it and say, 'goodnight, goodbye.'"[1] Detective Mark Woodhead emphasized that the investigation remains active, urging anyone with information to come forward: "This investigation remains open so if anyone has any information, no matter how small, now is the time to come forward."[1]
