Parts of eastern Sichuan and southern Shaanxi face substantial likelihood of flash flood disasters, with certain areas facing particularly acute risk, covering the period from 8 p.m. on August 1 through 8 p.m. on August 2.[1] The Central Meteorological Administration issued an orange-level rainstorm warning, with localized torrential rainfall of 250–280 millimeters expected in the central Sichuan Basin and coastal regions of southeastern Guangdong.[1] Short-duration intense precipitation could bring hourly rainfall rates of 20–50 millimeters in affected zones, with some areas potentially exceeding 80 millimeters.[1] Additionally, certain regions in eastern Jilin and northeastern Sichuan are anticipated to experience thunderstorm-accompanied gale-force winds exceeding magnitude 10.[1] The Ministry of Natural Resources and China Meteorological Administration concurrently released an orange-level geological disaster weather risk warning.[1] Authorities have directed all regions to strengthen flood prevention and disaster mitigation efforts, with immediate evacuation mandated for populations in high-risk areas.[1]
