France and the World Health Organization formalized a partnership through the signing of seven contribution agreements at WHO headquarters in Geneva on October 17, 2024. Under the agreements, France pledges a total contribution of €24 million, with €4.5 million designated as flexible voluntary funds. [1] The funding also covers emergency response operations in Gaza, cholera outbreak response, mental health support for Ukraine, and the Lyon WHO emergency center. [1]
Bonafon stated that "France remains deeply committed to supporting the World Health Organization in its efforts to tackle critical global health challenges."
