双方将优先合作扩展到性健康与生殖权利、性别平等、卫生系统、安全、气候适应力和心理健康等领域[1]。自2022年上次战略对话以来，两方合作范围进一步拓展，特别是在气候变化与卫生等新领域的加强[1]。WHO同时宣布启动首届WHO投资轮，旨在动员可预测、可持续和灵活的资源支持全球卫生事业[1]。
The World Health Organization and the Netherlands held a strategic dialogue in The Hague on April 10, 2024, to align the country's global health strategy with WHO's strategic objectives.[1] During the meeting, both parties confirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts in health systems strengthening, pandemic preparedness, climate change and health, antimicrobial resistance, and mental health.[1] The Netherlands pledged to continue its role as a flexible donor and strategic partner to WHO, having contributed over $106 million during 2022–2023, with approximately 90 percent—$93 million—coming from voluntary funding.[1]
The expanded partnership builds on discussions held since the previous strategic dialogue in 2022, with new areas of cooperation now encompassing climate change and health.[1] Priority cooperation areas identified include sexual health and reproductive rights, gender equality, health systems, security, climate resilience, and mental health.[1] During the same 2022–2023 period, the Netherlands was among WHO's top five flexible donors, contributing nearly $19 million in core voluntary contributions.[1]
The dialogue also marked the announcement of WHO's inaugural Investment Round, designed to mobilize predictable, sustainable, and flexible resources for global health initiatives.[1]
