Bader, signed to a two-year, $20.5 million contract with a base salary of $4.5 million for this season, stands to lose $1.42 million in remaining wages for the year.1 Prior to the accident, the outfielder had appeared in 30 games with a .170 batting average, 5 home runs, and 14 runs batted in, posting an on-base plus slugging percentage of .557.1 Giants executive Buster Posey said in a statement: "We are still investigating the circumstances of the accident, but will be suspending payment to Harrison until he is able to resume performing services for the club."1
Bader was previously suspended from competition at the University of Florida in 2014 following a scooter accident.1
