The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has announced a major fashion exhibition dedicated to British designer John Galliano, marking him as the third living designer to receive such a retrospective from the museum's Costume Institute.1 The exhibition, titled "John Galliano: Horizons," will run from May 9, 2027, to January 9, 2028, and will deliberately address both his creative achievements and the serious misconduct that marked his career.1

The exhibition will be structured in three parts to navigate this complex legacy.1 The first section, titled "Bearings," will directly confront his misconduct, while "Horizons" will examine his creative influences, and "Atlas of Transformation" will showcase his technical innovation and artistic evolution.1 Jonathan Greenblatt, chief executive of the Anti-Defamation League, stated: "We believe John Galliano has genuinely addressed the issues that led to his antisemitic outburst in Paris years ago, and we accepted his apology long ago."1
