Tony Romo, the former NFL quarterback and chief NFL analyst for CBS Sports, was arrested on July 23 on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence on Interstate 43 in Wisconsin.[1] The 46-year-old failed a sobriety test at the scene, and an empty alcohol bottle was discovered in the passenger seat of his black Jeep.[1]
CBS Sports announced that Romo would be suspended indefinitely "until further notice" following the arrest.[1] JJ Watt will replace him as part of the network's primary NFL broadcast team, joining Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson in the booth.[1] Romo, who has served as CBS's lead NFL analyst since 2017 and spent his playing career with the Dallas Cowboys, is scheduled to appear in court on September 21.[1]
