China's People's Liberation Army Air Force deployed multiple Y-20 transport aircraft to ferry newly enrolled flight cadets to Air Force Aviation University for registration on July 31 and August 1, 2024 [1]. The operation utilized six boarding points across the country—in Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Nanjing, Changsha, and Chengdu—to transport cadets admitted for the 2026 academic year [1]. Among the deployed aircraft, the Y-20B variant made its maiden participation in this mission, equipped with indigenously developed engines [1]. Six newly admitted flight cadets from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province boarded at the Changsha station, including Zhang Haoxiang from Shenzhen Experimental School Guangming Campus, Wang Chen from Hualang School, Guo Yi from Honglin Middle School, He Pengcheng and Li Yingshu from the Twenty-Second Senior High School, and Zhang Jinchuang from Yantian Senior High School [1]. The Changsha boarding point served cadets from five provincial regions across central and southern China—Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan [1]. Welcoming and send-off ceremonies were organized to inspire the new cadets as they embarked on their aerospace careers [1].
