Axel Rudakubana, the 19-year-old convicted of a mass stabbing at a children's dance event, has been charged with multiple assault offenses against prison and emergency personnel.[1] Rudakubana was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 52 years following the July 29, 2024 attack in Southport, where he killed three young girls—Bebe King, aged 6; Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged 7; and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, aged 9—and injured 10 others.[1]
The new charges include an assault causing injury in May 2025 and an attack on emergency responders two days before his latest court appearance.[1] Rudakubana also faces an allegation of possessing a weapon with intent to cause harm while incarcerated.[1] He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 11, 2025, to answer the charges.[1] Recently, he was transferred from a standard prison facility to Broadmoor, a high-security psychiatric hospital.[1]
