Southern Weekly's China Corporate Social Responsibility Research Center has released a comprehensive social responsibility assessment of the internet technology industry, revealing significant growth in generative artificial intelligence services and highlighting both innovative practices and emerging compliance challenges among leading companies.[1]
As of June 2026, a cumulative total of 988 generative AI services have completed registration with the National Internet Information Office, representing a year-on-year increase of 125%.[1] The research surveyed 60 companies in the sector, with 33 achieving scores above 60 points on a 100-point scale and an average score of 63.59.[1] Lenovo Group ranked first in the industry rankings, while ZTE Corporation advanced to second place, with TCL Technology and Kuaishou Technology entering the top ten.[1]
The report identified several areas where enterprises are establishing innovative practices in technology ethics and sustainability. Thirty-seven companies have disclosed technology ethics-related policies, with 26 integrating "technology ethics" into their material sustainability issues, and 10 establishing dedicated technology ethics governance mechanisms.[1] In support of aging populations and persons with disabilities, 32 companies have leveraged AI technology for age-friendly and accessibility initiatives.[1] On climate action, 26 companies have formulated climate strategies, with enterprises such as Tencent, ECOVACS Robotics, and Beike committing to achieve operational carbon neutrality by 2030, while Ant Group has maintained operational carbon neutrality for five consecutive years since 2021.[1] Additionally, 22 companies have disclosed solutions for enabling green industrial transformation, and 15 have published measures promoting green consumption.[1]
