Brisbane's 2026 Lord Mayor's Photographic Awards celebrated the theme "Everyday Brisbane," inviting residents to submit images showcasing the city's daily life and culture.[1] The competition attracted more than 2,200 entries, with judges selecting 10 winners across the main categories and 23 finalists in the People's Choice Award.[1] The winning photographs encompassed a diverse range of subjects, from city streetscapes and river sunrises to scenes from the Fiesta and suburban neighborhoods.[1]
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner remarked on the competition's significance, stating: "The best thing about Brisbane isn't just our skyline or river. It's the lifestyle we enjoy every day."[1] The award-winning works will be displayed at multiple locations free to the public, including the Brisbane Museum from August 1 to November 1, Brisbane Square from August 3 to 28, and the domestic terminal at Brisbane Airport from August 3 to 31.[1]
