China's national railway operator has rolled out a new function on the 12306 mobile app designed specifically for incoming freshmen in 2026.[1][2] The exclusive reservation service runs from August 1 to 30, allowing eligible new students to book train tickets for travel between August 17 and September 14 by reserving seats between the 20th and 17th day before departure.[1][2] Participants can secure tickets at student discount rates and reserve for up to three passengers per account, with a maximum of three separate orders permitted.[1]
