The U.S. Department of Energy has selected Brookfield Asset Management to develop a $100 billion project that will repurpose a former uranium enrichment facility in Paducah, Kentucky into an artificial intelligence data center coupled with natural gas power generation [1]. The comprehensive facility will integrate 2 gigawatts of natural gas generation capacity, 2.6 gigawatts of battery storage, and 1.8 gigawatts dedicated to AI data center operations across approximately 3,550 acres [1].
