The Powerhouse Museum in Sydney has engaged local production company Felix Media to create a documentary chronicling its relocation to Parramatta.[1] The overall contract value stands at AUD 2.5 million, with the museum bearing between AUD 1.7 million and AUD 1.9 million in costs after accounting for production tax incentives estimated at AUD 787,851.[1]
The documentary project began in 2021 and will document the design and construction phases of the AUD 1.2 billion Powerhouse Parramatta development.[1] The final product is scheduled for completion in June 2027 and will be released in two formats: a 60-minute version for broadcast on SBS and ABC, and an 87-minute version for theatrical screening at the new venue.[1] Felix Media, founded by Bridget Ikin and John Maynard, will retain full ownership rights to the documentary.[1]
