Tony Romo, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS chief NFL game analyst, was arrested last week on suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee.[1] Police stopped Romo's black Jeep on the highway after observing him passing in a no-passing zone, and officers noted he had red glassy eyes and smelled of an intoxicating alcoholic beverage.[1] An open bottle of alcohol was discovered on the passenger side of his vehicle.[1]
During the traffic stop, Romo performed poorly on a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath alcohol test.[1] The 46-year-old told officers he was coming from a golf course and was on his way to visit his grandparents.[1] Romo has been summoned to appear in court on September 21, 2025.[1] He has worked as CBS's lead NFL game analyst since 2017, following his quarterback career with Dallas from 2004 to 2016.[1]
