The Women's Professional Baseball League (WPBL) has secured a media rights agreement with ESPN and Scripps Sports Network to broadcast its first season of competition.[1] ESPN will serve as the primary U.S. distributor, airing all regular season and playoff games, while Scripps Sports Network will carry select regular season matchups.[1] The league will stream 19 regular season and playoff games on ESPN, with 11 of those games also broadcasting simultaneously on Scripps Sports Network.[1]
The inaugural season will feature four teams—the New York Highlanders, Boston Hunters, Los Angeles Queens, and San Francisco Fire Clocks—each playing 15 regular season games plus playoffs.[1] All games will be held at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois.[1] The opening weekend will showcase the New York Highlanders facing the Los Angeles Queens on Saturday, followed by the San Francisco Fire Clocks playing the Boston Hunters on Sunday.[1]
