Support among Republicans for Trump's Iran approach has also weakened, declining from approximately 71 percent in June to around 61 percent currently.1 When asked about potential military actions against Iran, only about one-fifth of American adults favor continued military operations, while roughly three-tenths prefer to pause and pursue a ceasefire.1 The conflict, which began on February 28, has claimed the lives of 18 American service members.1
A substantial 72 percent of American adults consider preventing increases in domestic oil and gas prices "extremely" or "very" important.1 The poll surveyed 1,165 adults with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.1
