ECB Governing Council member Piero Cipollone stated that "like cash, the digital euro will be a public good, and in the digital age, every European should be able to access it equally." [1] The accessibility testing will take place during the digital euro pilot phase launching in 2027 and will be conducted in collaboration with members of the ONCE Foundation, a disability rights organization, as well as staff from the ECB and the central banks of the 19 eurozone member states.
