Godolphin Resources has identified a significant copper-gold porphyry deposit at its Goodrich project in New South Wales through recent drilling results.[1] The most substantial intersection returned 136.55 meters of mineralization grading 0.32% copper, 0.16 grams per tonne gold, and 43 grams per tonne molybdenum, commencing at a depth of 81.45 meters.[1] Within this zone, a contact-hosted rich segment measured 3.55 meters at 2.8% copper and 0.18 grams per tonne gold, while a second drill hole intersected 52.97 meters of mineralization grading 0.20% copper and 0.02 grams per tonne gold from 29.15 meters depth.[1]
The project is being developed under a partnership agreement with Canadian-based Great Plains Metals, which has completed an initial stage earning a 51% interest, while Godolphin retains 49%.[1] Great Plains intends to invest an additional $1 million in exploration activities over the coming year to secure a 70% stake in the project.[1] Godolphin's Managing Director Jeneta Owens stated that the confirmation of the copper-gold porphyry mineralization represents "an excellent result for both Godolphin and our joint venture partner Great Plains."[1] The Goodrich prospect is located approximately 70 kilometers northwest of Orange within the Lachlan Fold Belt.[1]
