A 19-year-old Norwegian named Johannes Kongsnes Natland was recruited by a 16-year-old hitman known as "Generalen" to carry out a murder in Britain on behalf of an Iran-affiliated Swedish gang called Foxtrot.[1] Natland was promised €25,000 (approximately $41,000) for the assignment.[1] He was arrested on March 19, 2024, at a hotel in Huddersfield, where police recovered two handguns, 18 rounds of ammunition, £2,000 in cash, and three pairs of work gloves.[1]
At London's Old Bailey, a jury deliberated for 17 hours and 6 minutes before finding Natland guilty of conspiracy to murder.[1] He had admitted to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.[1] The identity of the intended target remains unknown.[1] Meanwhile, Generalen, now 17 years old, was sentenced on June 1, 2024, to 14 years in prison with a minimum term of 9 years for arranging two murders in Sweden and an attempted murder in Britain.[1]
