Luke Gosling, a 54-year-old Federal Labor MP representing the Solomon electorate, has been arrested over allegations that he assaulted David Connolly, the Northern Territory Administrator, at a public event on July 18, 2024.13 Northern Territory Police made the arrest early Thursday morning, with Gosling remaining in custody and not yet formally charged.13 The incident allegedly occurred at a Thai cultural gathering held at Connolly's residence.3
Gosling has consistently denied the allegations, describing them as "preposterous claims" and asserting that he has had no contact with Connolly since the latter's appointment was announced late last year.3 Environment Minister Murray Watt responded to the arrest by stating: "I see Luke Gosling has firmly denied these allegations.
