Staff have reported having access to only a single unpaid lunch break despite long shifts involving frequent public interaction [1]. While the museum states that all direct employees receive at least the London Living Wage of £14.80 per hour, some contracted workers do not, and the V&A has yet to obtain certified employer status [1]. The Storehouse, which opened in May 2025, represents the institution's newest satellite facility [1].
