湖南省高校领导班子腐败问题集中曝光。南华大学校长夏昆因涉嫌严重违纪违法被查[1]，其前任校长张灼华于本月初被通报受查[1]，两人时隔不到一个月相继被查[1]。夏昆于2025年11月升任校长，从正式执掌学校到被通报调查任期不足八个月[1]。
与此同时，同属湖南省的中南大学也牵涉其中。该校前副校长郭学益已被开除党籍和公职并移送司法[1]。中共中纪委于7月23日通报开除郭学益的党籍和公职[1]；郭学益于2025年12月官宣落马[1]。前中南大学校长、中国工程院院士张堯学于2025年10月17日被查[1]，今年5月被开除党籍和公职，并撤销院士称号[1]。张堯学于2011年10月至2017年5月期间任中南大学校长[1]。南华大学与核军工领域渊源深厚，该校于2000年率先成立核科学技术学院[1]。
Authorities in Hunan Province have launched anti-corruption investigations targeting senior officials at several higher education institutions. Nanjing University of Technology (Nanjuihua University) has been particularly hard hit, with two successive presidents coming under scrutiny within a single month.[1]
President Xia Kun of Nanjuihua University is under investigation for alleged serious violations of discipline and law.[1] His predecessor Zhang Zhuohua was reported to be under investigation earlier this month, with the two leaders investigated within less than one month of each other.[1] Xia Kun assumed the presidency in November 2025 and was investigated before serving a full eight months in his formal leadership role.[1]
The corruption crackdown has extended to Central South University. Guo Xueyi, former deputy president of Central South University, was stripped of his Communist Party membership and public office in July, with his case transferred for judicial proceedings.[1] Guo's downfall was publicly announced in December 2025.[1] Additionally, Zhang Yao, the university's former president and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was investigated in October 2025 and subsequently expelled from the Party in May of this year, with his academy membership revoked.[1] Zhang Yao served as president of Central South University from October 2011 to May 2017.[1]
Nanjuihua University maintains deep historical connections with China's nuclear military industry, having established its School of Nuclear Science and Technology in 2000.[1]
