Former members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association have filed a lawsuit against Penske Media, its owner Jay Penske, Eldridge Industries, and CEO Todd Boehly, accusing them of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme to acquire the Golden Globes in 2023.1 The plaintiffs allege that the defendants deliberately orchestrated a boycott campaign targeting the Golden Globes to devalue the awards show, concealed Penske's involvement in the transaction, and violated antitrust laws.1 The HFPA is seeking at least $150 million in damages and asking the court to void the HFPA dissolution agreement that facilitated the acquisition.1
