CBS's flagship news program "60 Minutes" has unveiled a new roster of contributors for its upcoming 59th season, bringing in fresh voices alongside established journalists.[1] The additions include New York Times columnist Ross Douthat, former CBS Evening News anchor Norah O'Donnell, investigative journalist Sebastian Junger, and correspondents Trevor Phillips and Gianna Toboni.[1] Continuing with the program are veteran correspondents Lesley Stahl, Jon Wertheim, and Bill Whitaker.[1]
The personnel announcement follows a significant restructuring two months prior, when newly appointed Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss installed Nick Bilton as executive producer.[1] That overhaul resulted in the departure of several senior journalists, including Tanya Simon, who was dismissed after more than three decades with the program, as well as Sharyn Alfonsi, Cecilia Vega, and Scott Pelley.[1] Additionally, Anderson Cooper departed voluntarily to pursue his work at CNN after 20 years serving the program.[1]
