Huawei has initiated enrollment for the HarmonyOS 7 Flower Beta version and begun pushing updates, introducing more than 100 improvements to the operating system 1. The core enhancements include an upgrade of the initial immersive light-sensing feature to a global immersive space that extends across various application interface levels 1. The system package size reaches approximately 10GB, with certain device models exceeding 20GB 1.
A significant evolution comes through Xiao Yi, Huawei's AI assistant, which has undergone comprehensive reconstruction based on Agentic technology 1. The upgraded assistant now supports autonomous understanding and error correction as well as task decomposition capabilities 1. On the security front, Star Shield, Huawei's fraud prevention system, introduces AI voice changing and QR code risk detection as new security features for the first time 1. These new capabilities have been made available to third-party ecosystem applications including Douyin and Alipay 1.
The official release of HarmonyOS 7 is scheduled for autumn 1. The beta version development is benchmarked against HarmonyOS 6.1.0.117 as the baseline version 1.
