电视剧《生命树》的主角"老韦"以真人原型韩维林的经历为蓝本。1994年1月18日，韩维林在可可西里太阳湖附近参与的民间巡山队与盗猎分子发生枪战，他在战斗中失去了左耳听力，而所在巡山队的队长索南达杰在这次冲突中牺牲。[1]索南达杰曾对韩维林表示："如果现在没人进山，要不了两年，这片荒原就只剩下白骨了"，这句话深刻反映了当时保护可可西里的紧迫性。[1]
韩维林的人生随后经历了曲折。他曾投入9万元自有资金和11万元贷款承包木德查琼盐湖，但因县级纠纷无法开工，导致投资打水漂。[1]1998年11月，西部工委第二任书记扎巴多杰牺牲后，他为追回投资提起的诉讼因法定代表人死亡而终止。[1]经过多年艰难岁月，2021年春节前，61岁的韩维林彻底还清了人生最后一笔债务。[1]
如今66岁的韩维林住在青海循化撒拉族自治县黄河岸边，以养蜂为生，年收益增长至1000斤蜂蜜。[1]近年来随着电视剧走红被推到聚光灯下，但他仍然坚守着养蜂的平静生活。[1]
Han Weilin, the real-life prototype for the protagonist "Old Han" in the television series "The Tree of Life," endured a traumatic encounter during his early years as a driver and guide with a civilian patrol team in the Hoh Xil region.[1] On January 18, 1994, near Taiyang Lake in Hoh Xil, Han Weilin lost hearing in his left ear during a gunfight between the patrol team and poachers.[1] In the same confrontation, Suo Nan Dajie, the patrol team's captain, was killed.[1]
Beyond the dramatic incident, Han Weilin's life took a difficult turn in subsequent decades. He invested 90,000 yuan of his own funds and borrowed 110,000 yuan to lease the Mudezhaqiong Salt Lake, but the venture collapsed when a county-level dispute prevented operations from beginning, leaving his investment lost.[1] For years, debt weighed heavily on him. However, by the spring of 2021, at age 61, Han Weilin finally cleared all remaining debts from his life.[1]
Today, at 66 years old, he lives along the Yellow River in Qinghai's Xunhua Salar Autonomous County, where he has built a modest livelihood through beekeeping.[1] His annual honey production has grown to approximately 1,000 pounds.[1] Though the recent success of the television drama has thrust him into public attention, Han Weilin has adopted a philosophical stance toward fame and continues to focus on his beekeeping work.
