Tiens Pharmaceutical, a leading health supplement company, has quietly deployed significant capital into major artificial intelligence ventures through investment funds and personal networks. Beginning in April 2026, the company committed approximately 450 million yuan to participate in funding rounds for prominent AI firms including DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and StepFun, while also building positions in chip enterprises.[1]
The company secured a 0.04% stake in DeepSeek by investing 130 million yuan through an indirect ownership structure via Lisi Capital, where it holds an LP stake.[1] Additionally, Tiens Pharmaceutical invested a combined 15 million U.S. dollars in Moonshot AI's Series D round, acquiring a 0.12% shareholding through a family connection—founder Liang Yunchao's mother-in-law, Sun Jinyu, holds equity in the company and facilitated the investment channel.[1] DeepSeek's valuation in this round ranged between 325 billion and 350.9 billion yuan.[1]
The company's aggressive AI investment strategy has been enabled by its strong financial position. As of the end of 2025, Tiens Pharmaceutical held 2.449 billion yuan in cash and equivalents while maintaining a low asset-to-liability ratio of just 19.95%, providing ample resources to pursue opportunities in the booming AI sector.[1]
