The airport's noise management framework remains a point of contention. Approximately 288 residential and noise-sensitive non-residential buildings have been identified as eligible for a noise insulation program.[1] However, Federal Member Melissa McIntosh stated that the noise insulation program covers only around 250 residences.[1] The flight paths received approval in June 2025, when Federal Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Minister Catherine King announced five changes designed to reduce aircraft noise.[1]
