Former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has been convicted and fined for two separate speeding offenses committed within three weeks.[1] The 56-year-old was caught exceeding speed limits while driving a Porsche on December 2 and a Bentley on December 22, with both incidents recorded by speed cameras in Herefordshire.[1] West Mercia Police brought charges against Hammond, which were heard at Telford magistrates court.[1]
Hammond was prosecuted for driving a Porsche at 68 mph in a 50 mph zone and subsequently operating a Bentley at 82 mph in a 70 mph zone.[1] Judge Ann Minton imposed a total fine of £1,771, comprising two separate penalties of £333 and £666, court costs of £240, and a victim surcharge of £532.[1] The conviction also resulted in the deduction of seven points from his driving license.[1]
