Johnson & Johnson has proposed a settlement of up to $5.5 billion to resolve thousands of lawsuits in the United States alleging that its talcum powder products caused ovarian cancer.12 The agreement would cover approximately 69,000 to 76,000 cases, representing the majority of remaining talc-related claims against the company.12 Under the terms, J&J plans to pay up to $3 billion in 2027, with additional payments to follow after 2028.12
