The dispute has generated 57 formal complaints since 2023, filed by one primary complainant and eight neighboring residents.1 The club has invested more than $200,000 in noise mitigation measures, including installation of double-glazed windows, acoustic treatments, and sound barriers.1 Operating in the area since 1963, the venue typically closes at 10 p.m. on weekends.1 The principal complainant moved to the neighboring area approximately five years ago.1
Darren Duke, director of Liquor & Gaming NSW, ruled that the complaint could not be sustained under the state government's recent regulatory reform framework.1 NSW Late-Night Economy Minister John Graham stated: "The days of moving next to an established venue and complaining until it closes are over."1
