Auric Mining has launched a fresh drilling campaign at its Munda gold project in Western Australia, comprising 135 reverse-circulation drill holes totaling 12,900 meters [1]. The program is designed to expand the mineral resource at Munda, which was recently upgraded to 192,000 ounces of gold [1], ahead of the mine's planned restart in late 2027 [1].
The company's confidence in scaling up operations stems from positive results at the starter pit, which recovered 8,886 ounces of gold despite exceeding budget by 46 percent [1]. The upgraded resource represents a 32 percent increase [1]. Management has outlined a five-year development pathway involving the extraction of 2.7 million tonnes at a grade of 1.75 grams per tonne, expected to yield approximately 155,000 ounces with a projected output of 141,254 ounces and estimated revenue of USD 812 million [1].
CEO Mark English stated that the drilling initiative "is part of our plan to transform the company into a fully integrated mining operation when Munda restarts mining in late 2027" [1]. The Munda project is located in Widgiemooltha, Western Australia, approximately 82 kilometers south of Kalgoorlie [1]. In August, the company commenced an additional 89,000-meter grade control drilling program [1].
