Matthew James Cox, 34, has been committed to stand trial on two murder charges following a two-day hearing before Rockhampton Magistrates Court.[1] The charges relate to the deaths of his 30-year-old wife Tayla Black and their 11-week-old daughter Murphy, who died on August 8, 2023, at a Central Queensland residence.[1] Magistrate Peter Kuskie determined there was sufficient evidence to proceed, stating: "I consider the evidence is capable of supporting a conviction and accordingly I find that the evidence is such as to put the accused on trial."[1]
