Huawei officially disclosed the latest adaptation progress for its HarmonyOS 7 operating system on October 30 1. The company has initiated full network-wide rollouts for several flagship devices, including the Mate 80, Pura 90, nova 16, and MatePad Pro Max 1. Simultaneously, recruitment for the "Pollen Club" beta testing program has opened for users of the nova 12, nova 13, and the 13.2-inch MatePad Pro 2023 models 1. These updates are part of the rollout process following the official release of HarmonyOS 7, which was scheduled for September 7, 2026 1.
The new system version, identified as HarmonyOS 7.0.0.111, emphasizes spatial aesthetics and enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities 1. A core feature is the evolution of the virtual assistant, Xiaoyi, into a system-level intelligent agent capable of "cultivation," which accesses over 2,100 system functions and more than 500 ecosystem skills 1. In terms of performance, the system supports keeping up to 16 applications active simultaneously in performance mode 1. Notably, HarmonyOS 7 introduces cross-ecosystem connectivity through the "HarmonyOS Star River Interconnection" application, enabling message transfer, device finding, and network sharing with iPhone devices 1.
Despite these advancements, hardware constraints prevent certain older devices from upgrading to the complete native HarmonyOS experience 1. Specifically, the Mate 40 series and earlier models, the P50 series and earlier, as well as any devices equipped with Kirin 9000 chips or older generations, are not supported for this upgrade 1.
