Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has extended his unbeaten streak against Barcelona to six consecutive El Clasico matches, a feat previously achieved only by Miguel Munoz and Vicente del Bosque. 1 His team secured a 2-1 away victory at Camp Nou, with Kylian Mbappe scoring both goals for the visitors. 1 This result snapped Barcelona's nine-game unbeaten run in domestic competitions and reduced the points gap between the league leaders and their rivals to three, significantly altering the La Liga title race dynamics. 1 Had Real Madrid lost, Barcelona would have opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the standings. 1
Mourinho’s personal record in El Clasicos now stands at six wins and six losses. 1 Following the match, the manager emphasized the strategic importance of the win beyond just gaining points. "In my opinion, Real Madrid is not playing here at Camp Nou to win games but to win the league," he stated. 1 On the opposing side, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick acknowledged that the squad was suffering from fatigue due to a congested fixture schedule, noting a lack of freshness in the players' performance. 1
