Zhang Leina, a Vietnamese social media influencer with approximately 400,000 followers, recently visited Shenzhen's Talent Park to experience the city's preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.1 A master's student in International Chinese Education at Peking University's Shenzhen Graduate School, Zhang documented her visit and observed several technological innovations, including robotic coffee shops and drone-based food delivery services.1 However, she also encountered practical challenges related to payment methods and language barriers during her experience at the venue.1
Based on her firsthand observations, Zhang put forward three specific recommendations to improve service accessibility for international visitors.1 She advocated for diverse payment options at consumption points, noting that a Burmese tourist encountered difficulties at the robotic coffee shop due to lacking a WeChat account and requiring Alipay as an alternative payment method.1 Zhang also suggested that frontline staff utilize AI translation software to facilitate communication, and that temporary warning signs include English language annotations.1 Her recommendations come as Shenzhen's metro system has become the third city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area to support contactless Visa payments through its "tap-to-ride" system.1 The Talent Park itself launched its drone delivery service route in September of this year.1
