Beau Lamarre-Condon, 31, stands trial accused of fatally shooting Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies with a police-issued firearm on February 19, 2024.1 The former officer has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one count of breaking and entering.1
During court proceedings, witness Dayna Schagen testified that Lamarre-Condon contacted her in late March 2024, approximately one month after his arrest, telling her: "I want to tell you, I love you, and before you take any action, you need to know that not everything in the news is true."1 Schagen also recounted that five days before the killings, on February 14, 2024, Lamarre-Condon posed a hypothetical question to her about how police respond to reports of gunshots.1
Lamarre-Condon had been in a relationship with Baird that ended in November 2023.1 After Baird and Davies went missing on February 22, 2024, Schagen sent Lamarre-Condon messages but received no response.1
