God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action"。
Sarah Helm, wife of Jonathan Powell, the Prime Minister's National Security Adviser, will face no further action following a police investigation into a social media post she made in support of Palestine Action, a banned organization.1 The Metropolitan Police determined that Helm's post on the platform X did not meet the threshold for criminal prosecution.1
Helm had written on social media: "God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action."1 Palestine Action has been banned since July 2025, with support for the organization carrying a potential prison sentence of up to 14 years.1 Police received a report about the post on October 15 and announced their decision not to pursue the matter further on October 17.1 The Campaign Against Antisemitism had previously called for law enforcement to investigate the statement.1
Downing Street distanced itself from Helm's remarks, with a government spokesman stating: "These views are held by an individual who does not represent the government in any capacity."1
