英国改革党议员因种族歧视言论曝光而辞职

An ITV inquiry documented Finney describing Asian business owners as "parasites" and claiming that no more than 1% of the British population could be non-white 1.

Finney had won seats representing Shadwell ward on Birmingham City Council and Castle Bromwich ward on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council earlier in 2024, subsequently being appointed as Solihull's deputy mayor 1. In response to the exposure, he posted on Facebook: "There is no excuse to defend my comments. With responsibility comes accountability, and therefore I have resigned from all my positions on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Birmingham City Council" 1.

The same ITV investigation, which was conducted over a one-year period, also led to the resignation of two other Reform Party candidates, Jamie Campbell and Chris Weighton, following the disclosure of similar remarks 1. Party leader Nigel Farage has previously committed multiple times to removing "extremists" and "bigots" from the Reform Party 1.
