The Metropolitan Police have launched a criminal investigation into unauthorized access to Your Party's membership database, following a referral received in September 2025 1. The left-wing political party, founded in the summer of 2025 by former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and former Labour MP Zarah Sultana, has been marked by internal factional tensions since its establishment 1.
The dispute centers on a membership portal system introduced by Sultana in September, which required members to pay £55 to become premium subscribers 1. Corbyn characterized the system as a "false membership scheme" and called on supporters to disregard related fundraising communications 1. The Information Commissioner's Office had previously advised the party to refer the matter to police, suggesting it could involve "serious criminal activity" 1.
Police have arrested one man on suspicion of breaching the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and released him pending further inquiries; officers also questioned a woman in her thirties as part of the investigation 1. In February, Corbyn secured a decisive victory in party leadership elections, with his backed candidates winning 14 of 24 seats on the party's central executive committee 1.
