Chinese regulators have established a joint investigation team to examine safety concerns surrounding the Huawei Zunjie V800, a luxury vehicle developed in collaboration with JAC Motors.1 The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced on October 15 the formation of the investigative group, which includes the Cyberspace Administration of China and the State Administration for Market Regulation.1
The inquiry was triggered after the automotive review platform DoCar published test footage on October 8 showing brake pedal support brackets fracturing consecutively on three Zunjie V800 vehicles during emergency braking tests.1 In response, Zunjie Motors stated that the company would "actively respond, fully comply with, and provide complete cooperation to the joint investigation team's work."1 Additionally, multiple Chinese government departments issued a joint notice on October 10 requiring strengthened management of automotive product innovation design and research and development testing verification.1
