此外，20日至22日新一股冷空气将接力南下，影响范围波及江南一带1。
A strong cold air mass will sweep across China from west to east between October 16 and 19, bringing dramatically lower temperatures and widespread precipitation to much of the country north of the Yangtze River and its middle and lower reaches 1. Temperatures in northwestern China's eastern regions, North China, and the Huai River region will decline by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, while parts of western Gansu, central and eastern Inner Mongolia, and eastern Northeast China will experience temperature drops exceeding 10 degrees Celsius 1. Major cities including Beijing, Taiyuan, and Shijiazhuang will see maximum temperatures fall to 16–17 degrees Celsius 1.
This weather system will also mark the first time this year that minimum temperatures in Urumqi, Xining, Yinchuan, and Taiyuan drop to freezing or below 1. October 17 will represent the peak intensity of this precipitation phase, during which northern regions will experience unusually heavy rainfall and mixed rain-snow conditions rarely seen at this time of year 1. Particularly severe weather is expected in parts of western Liaoning and southern Liaoning, northeastern Hebei, western mountain areas of Beijing, and central and southern Shandong, where certain localities could receive torrential rainfall 1. A second cold front will follow from October 20 to 22, extending its influence southward to the Jiangnan region 1.
