An undercover investigation by ITV has revealed that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage protected candidate Chris Parish despite Parish making racist remarks about former Foreign Secretary David Lammy.1 Parish had stated that Lammy should "go back to the Caribbean" and suggested that at least eight politicians from minority ethnic backgrounds had questionable loyalty to Britain.1 When confronted in a recorded conversation, Farage told Parish "he must apologize to Lammy," yet was accused of "protecting him" when advised of the candidate's behavior.1
Parish was suspended from candidacy on March 26, 2024, following earlier reporting that he had referred to members of a Jewish community patrol as "cosplayers" and compared them to "Islamic fundamentalists on horseback."1 In separate recordings, Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin complained about sexism within the party, saying officials were "too fucking male chauvinist" and that "if you're a woman, they exclude you."1 The party has since dismissed the ITV investigation as employing "extreme deception," claiming undercover journalists used forged identity documents and false addresses to access party premises.1
