Eleven scholars from the preparatory team of Shenzhen Ocean University have been selected for the world's top 2% elite scientists list, jointly released by Stanford University and Elsevier 1. Among these honorees, six scholars were simultaneously recognized on the lifetime scientific impact ranking, while all eleven were included in the annual scientific impact ranking 1.
The rankings were compiled by a research team led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier 1. The evaluation metrics encompassed multiple dimensions, including citation frequency of published papers, H-index, HM-index, and citations of single-authored or first-authored papers 1. The assessment evaluated approximately 10 million scientists globally, with selections made across 20 disciplinary fields and 174 sub-disciplinary fields to identify the top 2% performers in each category 1.
