Yang Shuaishuai, a 36-year-old diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), has committed to donating his brain tissue for medical research after his death.1 He first experienced symptoms in June 2022 when his right hand became weak, and was confirmed to have the disease at Huashan Hospital in March 2023.1 By September 13, 2026, on his 39th birthday, Yang's condition had severely progressed, leaving only his eyes able to move freely.1
