In 2019, Yuhua Education purchased Thailand's Stamford International University for 219 million Hong Kong dollars, while China Education Holdings acquired King's College in Australia for approximately 620 million yuan.1 At the policy level, the Educational Powerhouse Construction Plan Outline (2024-2035), issued in 2025, emphasized strengthening China's capacity for overseas higher education operations.1 Supporting these industry developments, the China Private Education Association established the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation and Development Professional Committee in January 2026.1
