A British recruitment company executive has been accused of running a social media campaign targeting the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, anti-racism campaigners, and corporate leaders who hire minority ethnic staff.1 The X account in question, operating under the handle "Big Time Charlie," amassed nearly 50,000 followers and employed artificial intelligence to scrape data from LinkedIn and other websites to compile what it called "traitor lists."1
The account, attributed to recruitment boss Tom Watson, was disabled following an investigation by the anti-racism organization Hope Not Hate.1 Among those targeted was Green Party MP Chantelle Lunt, whose details appeared in spreadsheets circulated by the account.1 The account also claimed to have donated £2,500 to Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain party.1 Watson's company, Futura Energy Group, is based in Puerto Rico.1 Evidence suggesting Watson's involvement includes a photograph of the Vitznauerhof hotel in Switzerland posted by the Big Time Charlie account on July 20, which Watson subsequently shared on his own LinkedIn profile on July 22.1
